The Small Things That Make a Home Feel Sorted
A regular evening, a small realisation
Yesterday evening was typical — office se thak ke ghar aaya, bag sofa pe, shoes door ke paas, and straight to the kitchen for chai. But while sitting there, I noticed something strange… the house felt calmer. Not silent, not empty — just comfortable. No weird smell, no mosquitoes dancing around the tube light, no muddy shoe marks, and for once my car keys were exactly where they should be.
It didn’t happen automatically. It was all because of those tiny home care things we usually ignore while buying groceries. Visit Us: Aap Ka Bazar.
Natural repellents — because mosquitoes don’t pay rent
In our area, evening means mosquitoes arrive before guests. Earlier we used coils, but honestly the smoke used to irritate more than the insects. Now mummy keeps Goodknight Gold Flash Liquid Vaporizer plugged in by sunset and sometimes lights a Godrej HIT Naturals incense repellent in the balcony. Much softer smell, and you don’t even realize it’s working… until you sit peacefully without scratching your ankle every 10 seconds.
I even keep a small Odomos Naturals cream near my work desk at home. Late-night laptop work is suddenly bearable.
One thing I understood — comfort starts when irritation stops.
Best fresheners — first impression of any home
After dinner cooking, our living room used to hold onto food smells for hours. Now there’s a simple routine. A quick spray of Godrej aer Matic automatic spray refill in the hallway and a Ambi Pur Lavender Spa air freshener in the living room. The change is instant. The house feels… taken care of.
I also keep small odonil blocks in bathroom corners. Low effort, big effect. Someone rings the bell suddenly? No panic cleaning needed.
A good fragrance doesn’t show your house is rich. It shows someone cares.
Car care & auto cleaning — the forgotten room of the house
We clean bedrooms daily but the car… poor thing survives on weekend attention.
Last Sunday I finally cleaned it properly using 3M Car Wash Shampoo and wiped the dashboard with Formula 1 Protectant. The steering didn’t feel sticky anymore and the interior smell disappeared after hanging a Areon car perfume. Even driving to office felt different. Cleaner space = calmer mind. Strange but true.
And honestly, a clean car in the morning mood-sets your whole day.
Shoe care & shoe polish — tiny habit, big personality
My father has one strict rule: shoes should never look tired. Earlier I ignored it, but after using Kiwi shoe polish and Cherry Blossom shoe cream, I understood. A polished shoe somehow makes you stand straighter.
We now keep a Kiwi Instant Shine sponge near the door. Two seconds before leaving — quick wipe — done. Also bought a small shoe deodorizer spray because Indian weather and closed shoes… you already know.
Your clothes introduce you from far. Your shoes introduce you from near.
Where we usually pick everything
Most of these things we now simply add to our regular grocery list and pick from Aap Ka Bazar Supermarket. Sometimes online when lazy, sometimes offline when evening walk mood. One visit and you remember 10 things your home needed but you never thought about.
Funny part is — none of these are expensive, none are luxury items. But together they quietly upgrade daily life.
A fresh room, mosquito-free evening, clean car, polished shoes…
No one praises these loudly.
Yet every single day feels smoother because of them.
